Tyler is both a litigator and a solicitor. In addition to his legal practice, Tyler has been appointed by the Solicitor General to sit as a member of the Criminal Injuries Review Board, an administrative tribunal.
Tyler also has extensive experience as a consultant, a campaign manager and a volunteer during elections at federal, provincial and municipal levels. He can assist clients throughout the election process, from navigating election financing legislation to the recount process. He was the Official Agent for his Member of Parliament, Lee Richardson, in the 40th General Election, and is the Treasurer for the Calgary Centre Conservative Riding Association. Previously he was the campaign manager for Alderman John Mar, and he is a former member of the executive committee of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta as a regional director. He now sits as Past President of the Calgary Buffalo PC Association.
Tyler’s practice also includes representing athletes with respect to contract negotiations, endorsements and grievances. He is a certified agent with the Canadian Football League Players’ Association.
Tyler grew up in Calgary and is very active in the community. He is a Senator of the University of Calgary, a member of the Flames Ambassadors and a volunteer for the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede as a member of the Promotion Committee. Tyler also still volunteers his time to the Student Legal Assistance clinic at the University of Calgary. He sits on the board of directors of the Calgary Parking Authority.
Tyler is also an Assistant Editor of the Administrative Law Reports. He graduated from the University of Calgary and has been admitted to both the Alberta and BC bars.
